This article describes the components and applications of the Transnational Classroom (TC), conceptualized and implemented by Dr. Jessica Ramos-Harthun and Dr. Lourdes Sánchez-López during the summer 2001 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). The TC describes an innovative teaching methodology for language and culture oriented classrooms.
